Mother kidnaps child from state custody

An Albuquerque mother is locked up for custodial interference after police were called to a supervised visit at a Children Youth and Families office. On Tuesday, a police report says Laura Cristy punched and pushed CYFD employees as she tried to escape from the supervised visit while holding one of her four children. A CYFD spokesperson could not say why the children were in the department’s custody for confidentiality reasons. When police arrived, officers had to pry Cristy’s one-year-old son from her arms after she was found in the office parking lot. “The most troubling thing aspect of this incident is that the children witnessed it,” said spokesperson Romaine Serna. “I understand that she is facing charges around custodial interference. Our hope is that she will also face assault charges,” Serna added. Eyewitness News 4 found Cristy has a criminal history of domestic violence. According to Metro Court records, she’s been convicted three times of domestic violence and also has a pending fraud and racketeering case. Cristy’s mother declined to comment on camera, but told Eyewitness News 4 over the phone her daughter suffers with mental issues.

  1. Ha. Once again, a person "kidnaps" her own child ... FROM the state,
which of course truly owns the child.
