I HAD TO CALL CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES TODAY. *EDITED* again in red

Hello all. I had the day from hell today.

Well, I think that from the way this person described what happened, she was there, she was aware and she could have stopped it. She could have said something, and she could have then told her sister. Surprise. She called first and then told her sister later. for a professional who knows it's wrong, I would have used my expertise in explaining to her and him that it's wrong and her position as a mandated reporter and given a warning to say that if this ever happens again, you would be mandated to report it. I would say that i am not on your side on this one being that it's your family and not someone who you just encountered on the streets that you know for sure that you would never see again and there could possible ongoing occurances that you would never be able to stop or intervene on. But...this is your family, you have access to this child and the two adults responsible for this child. I am also a mandated reporter, along with everyone on my job. When we see these things happening, we give our clients a warning, and then tell them why it's wrong and then send them to parenting classes and we keep up with them by also giving them phamplets on what constitutes abuse, abandonment and neglect. CPS will drag this family to the mud if they don't like them. And can take their child away forever. If it were a stranger i could understand, but relative, you could have done more on your part to stand up to wrongdoing phone calls are for when you warned and put your 2 cents in and you're ignored.

First off this lady is guilty of child sexual assual for exposing her nephew's rear end, why hasn't she turned herself in? Second, in most places you aren't required to call CPS but any law enforcement agency, she called the wrong agency. CPS doesn't know how to handle kids very well: foster care has an 80% rate of failure. The kid probably had on a diaper/training pants which cushions the blow there considerably.
