$270,000 a year for child in crisis care

THE State Government is spending an average of $270,000 a year for each child in crisis accommodation, a parliamentary committee has heard.

In the Budget and Finance Committee yesterday, senior executives from the Families and Communities Department revealed more than $16 million was spent on placing children in motel, hotel, bed and breakfast and serviced apartment accommodation last financial year.
