Regarding FLDS: The Biggest Screw-up in CPS History?

Would the appeals court have issued the same order, telling CPS that they had no right to take all of those kids, without all the media attention?

If it was all kept secret like your typical CPS/Foster Care case those families wouldn't have a chance.

The workers would eat them alive.

This is what I mean. Media attention backs them into a corner and forces them to do the right thing in front of the masses who watch too much television. They know they're being watched and need to maintain public support for the Child Protection Industry.

This is all a big public relations campaign.

One comment on this.

I agree, but I also think that the CPS in TX thought that WE the public would be easily swayed by the "different" nature of the FLDS. They saw it as a means of "securing" (ha, ha, don't ya like the use of that word in relation to CPS!) many adoptable children as well as public sympathy money....they under-estimated that the general public can sometimes be smart enough not to buy thier bs!

I would really be interested on thoughts about this.

The Media makes a huge difference. If the wrongfully accused parent's and grandparent's would bombard all newspaper's, radio and tv station's with their horror stories of CPS abuse, maybe the press would finally start publicizing our nightmares.
Iv'e written to Newspapers and other media myself. The most I ever get is a letter to the editor printed. Everyone really need's to step up and push the media. It worked for the FLD's. Now it's our turn.
